Go North West is proud to have been named Bus Operator of the Year 2025 at the National Transport Awards. The honour recognises the progress made across Greater Manchester’s Bee Network and the company’s commitment to providing high-quality, reliable public transport.
Since taking on the first Bee Network franchise in Bolton and Wigan, Go North West has delivered the largest bus franchise contract in the UK. This work has included launching new routes, improving existing services, and expanding the electric bus fleet in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester.
Service performance has also strengthened, with punctuality improving by 10%. This has been supported by investment in a new High-Performance Operations Control Centre, designed to monitor and manage services more effectively.
The Elite Driver Academy continues to play a key role in developing talent within the business. Applications have risen by 600%, and the number of female drivers has tripled an encouraging step forward for diversity and opportunities in the industry.
