Charity of the Year
As of 2025, we select one Charity that aligns with our values at Go North West to be our Chairty of the Year. Our selected charity for 2025 is The Greater Manchester Mayors Charity.
This charity was chosen due to the relationship we have built with them since 2023. In 2023, it was said that 1 in 74 people were homeless, which is why we started supporting The Greater Manchester Mayors Charity. We began by supporting their first Bus Pull Event in 2023 by donating a bus, participating and sponsoring the same event in 2024, and then making them a charity partner in 2025 where our colleagues take part in monthly challenges sponsored by friends, family and Go North West to raise money for the charity. One colleague said “the challenge I have found most difficult so far was giving up something I love, but when you remember what you are doing it for and that not everyone has the privilege of having their favourite drink or take away at a drop of a hat, or even a roof over their head for that matter, it really put things into perspective”.
City of Trees
As of 2025, we are proud members of the 100 Tree Club in all three of our depots, meaning we help contribute to the planting of trees all around Manchester. We have the privilege on taking it a step further and being able to plant some trees ourselves, with our colleagues planting over 100 trees so far throughout Greater Manchester.
Donations
‘Drive a Smile this Christmas’ Campaign 2024
Last year, we donated gifts to two charities at hospitals that are local to the majority of our employees: Our Bolton NHS Charity – Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and WWL Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We decided to provide adult gifts, from board games to sensory toys, as well as sponsor the Christmas trees as Bolton Hospital. Christmas is a joyful time of year for so many, but also an extremely isolating and lonely time for others. That is why we are grateful that we got the opportunity to drive a few smiles last Christmas, and hopefully for many more Christmas’s to come.
